چکیده
We present a cross-correlation based analysis of the acoustic field generated in wake NACA 0012 and 65410 aerofoils at chord-based Reynolds number Rec = 75000 as obtained from pressure fields reconstructed series planar time-resolved Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) experiments. The experiments are performed water channel facility located University Southampton with an overhead carriage system to allow precise control angle attack α well mount them six-axis force/torque transducer for simultaneous load measurements. Angles range 4◦ < 17◦ explored corresponding conditions zero flow separation fully stalled.

Simultaneous measurements with 3D PIV and Acoustic Doppler Velocity Profiler
Simultaneous velocity measurements were taken using Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) and an Acoustic Doppler Velocity Profiler (ADVP) in a sharp open-channel bend with an immobile gravel bed. The PIV measures 3D velocity vectors in a vertical plane (~40cm x 20cm) at a frequency of 7.5 Hz, whereas the ADVP measures 3D velocity vectors in a vertical profile with a frequency of 31.25 Hz. The paper...
متن کاملTime-resolved force distribution analysis
BACKGROUND Biomolecules or other complex macromolecules undergo conformational transitions upon exposure to an external perturbation such as ligand binding or mechanical force. To follow fluctuations in pairwise forces between atoms or residues during such conformational changes as observed in Molecular Dynamics (MD) simulations, we developed Time-Resolved Force Distribution Analysis (TRFDA). ...
متن کاملTime-resolved Piv and Pressure Measurements of Oscillating and Pulsating Flow in a Rapid Expansion
Separating oscillating and pulsating flows in an internal adverse pressure gradient geometry are studied experimentally. Time-resolved PIV measurements and simultaneous pressure measurements reveal that, in oscillating flow, during the accelerating portion of the cycle, the flow remains attached in spite of a very large adverse pressure gradient. During the decelerating portion of the cycle, th...
متن کاملActuator disk model and span efficiency of flapping flight in bats based on time-resolved PIV measurements
All animals flap their wings in powered flight to provide both lift and thrust, yet few human-engineered designs do so. When combined with flexible wing surfaces, the resulting unsteady fluid flows and interactions in flapping flight can be complex to describe, understand, and model. Here, a simple modified actuator disk is used in a quasi-steady description of the net aerodynamic lift forces o...
متن کاملIntegration of non-time-resolved PIV and time-resolved velocity point sensors for dynamic estimation of time-resolved velocity fields
We demonstrate a three-step method for estimating time-resolved velocity fields using time-resolved point measurements and non-time-resolved particle image velocimetry (PIV) data. First, we use linear stochastic estimation to obtain an initial set of time-resolved estimates of the flow field. These initial estimates are then used to identify a linear model of the flow physics. The model is inco...
